Topic: Pokemon Theory: Professor Oak/Elm/etc is your father in the Pokemon games.

I came up with a theory about Pokemon, I haven't played past Gold and Silver generation, but have you ever noticed that none of the main protagonist's families have a father? In Pokemon Red/Blue, then why does Professor Oak take such an interest in Red/Blue (The main Character of the Pokemon Games), is it because he's a creep who takes a strange interest in children, or is it perhaps he's a total player who had pre-marital sexual intercourse with your mother in the Pokemon games and got her pregnant?
I think that Professor Oak is the main Protagonist's father.

Yes, but why does he seem to care about the protagonist more than his own god son? The answer has to be because Red is his son and shares more of his genes than Gary, who is his Grandson, so therefore he's biologically programmed to care about Red more.

Because it's a video game and the player has to be prompted to go onto his epic quest by an elder authority. Gary gets the same opportunities as Red does in the game, why do you think he cares about Red more than Gary?

Because calling your Grandson "Asshole" could be considered to be emotional abuse.

Not everyone was a rude little shit when they played Pokémon.
None of his default names were ASSHOLE.

To be honest, who doesn't name him a name such as Butt, Penis or Asshole when they played Pokemon? I named him Butt when I was a kid because I found it funny. In my head canon then that's his default name and professor Oak is kind of a dick to his grandson and your mother in the game is a bit of a whore and all of the Pallet Town linage can be traced to one individual, Professor Oak who is a total player and uses his money and status to have sexual intercourse with all the women.
It's the explanation that makes the most sense.

I was like 6 and I refrained from naming my rival anything rude on my first game.

> Well in the original manual for the game it says you and your rival used to be great friends.
And then he began to hate you because being an abused and neglected child, all Butts Oak ever sought was his grand-father's approval. So, he took out his anger from years of abuse out on you, expecially when overshadowing him for attention.

No, he was just a dick. Stop looking for such a deep meaning in a children's game.

By defeating the Elite Four and becoming the Pokemon champion, then you literally ruined the only chance Butts Oak had for his grand-father's approval.
The reason why Butts Oak was in the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town wasn't because he was burrying his dead Ratacate, but because he murdered his Ratacate and was thinking of jumping off The Pokemon Tower, and was going to murder the rest of his Pokemon before being interrupted by you playing as Red.

His name is Ash... not Red, not Blue, Ash!

Ash is the anime character, Red is the protagonist in the games. In fact they had a spin-off anime miniseries called Pokemon Origins that was an anime adaption of the 1st gen games. The main character was called Red. I'm 85% sure that the main character of the 1st gen games being called Red has been made canon.
