It used to be the biggest and most active board but I just checked in there after a while away and the first page spans an entire week. Almost nobody is making any new threads or commenting on existing ones. Why has it become so dead?

Because it died prior due to complications involving the admin, which lead to an exodus to here, and now nobody really wants to leave and/or didn't realize it was back.

Same mods. No ghost admin. Perhaps you mean the Sysops who only takes care of the server and does not do mod duty.
