President-Elect Trump says companies will no longer leave the United States of America without consequences. I'm sure the billion dollar corporations would love this news. Funny, considering how Trump himself offshored to Gina.

I think a nation should try to prevent their industry being stolen but I also think this might create conflicts among nations

Carrier is staying in the USA, and he's not even president yet.

The man is larger than life, it's basically impossible he won't do good to the US just by sheer willpower.

Absolute mad man, godspeed US of A, I'm cheering for you!

If Clinton had done this, would it still feel ominous?

Probably.

Clinton wouldn't have done it because it would have gone against her clearly stated economic policy. And so yes, IF (a big 'if') she had done it, it would have been ominous, because it would have meant she was going against her own ideas about what the global free market should be, which would then raise the question of why she was going against it. Was she under pressure from China, for example? Many variables.

the carrier deal is shit though. they are still exporting a fuck load of jobs, and the 7 million in tax breaks they get offset corporate jobs that weren't being offshored anyway. it's a PR stunt with zero meat. and now every company in the US is going to holdout their hand and get tax breaks for jobs that were never going anywhere.

it's a shit deal. go read about it. and what's trump going to do, wander the earth telling every company how to run their business? what the fuck else will he have time for?

pr stunt. plain and simple.

all the good trolls are into trump trolling these days. super ez. but at least there's the trolling of trump supporters when he destroys the country to look forward too. but, of course they'll either claim to have been trolling or just blame liberals for their failures. so it won't be a worth while trade off.
