No. We had to have our own ones and sharpen them over the bin. I started a craze in my class though. I heard on TV that pencil lead is made from graphite and could be turned into diamond (from what I remember of being a kid) so I would collect the lead from pencils and then other kids started doing it. Soon people were trading leads, like a massive piece of lead from a gold pencil for 10 small pieces of lead from a silver pencil. I think the craze lasted weeks, maybe even months.

They aren't that sharp. Wouldn't surprise me if these pencil sharpeners are banned in schools now due to health and safety. We were a lot less nannied in my day.
