Nope, it's not fair. Our thoughts are kept private for a reason, and perhaps everyone has thoughts that they wouldn't want to get out into the world.

Everyone gets intrusive thoughts. When I'm behind am old lady I think about pushing her over or punching her in the face if she walks slow or I think about getting a rock and smashing in a car window. People get this random thoughts for no reason but don't or would never act on them.

Most people can't control their thoughts, and disorders such as depression or anxiety can make it worse. With the exception of states of psychosis, autism or frontal lobe injury then most people with mental illness, even if they have a disorder which controls their thoughts are generally in control of their external actions.
