How would converting an mp3 to flac increase the quality?

People who do this are bottom feeders, quality-wise.

Correcto however every storage medium has a limited life. Hard drives crash. Optical disks deteriorate and its getting more worse as production costs are cut. SSD's do not like to be re-written to often.
Once we thought one could store optical disks in a vacuum or under nitrogen gas - removal of all oxygen does increase the life. Sadly it turns out that only helps extend the life for awhile longer.
EMP destroys all very quickly.
> flac increase the quality?
More like in more proper inglish - it does not really increase the quality EXCEPT on paper for the bottom line - Keep it MP3 and over tyme its continues to be less than expected so FLAC conversion does help but really now cause 10 years from now its oldies but goodies and not many care cept me

Support the musicians by attending their shows and requesting their songs be played on the radio. Support their record companys investors by buying over priced recordings.

physicaly pressed CDs are the best bet, way ahead of CDRs and DVD-Rs. I always want to shit when I see some company trying to sell some of its movies "on demand" on a fuckin DVD-R. It's practically a rental with that medium because I don't consider DVD-Rs to be real objects
