Ain't the story like this:
1 bitcoin is worth 6 mt gox $ and 1 mt gox $ is like 0.70 real world $?
And it ain't that easy to transfer huge amounts of mt gox $ into the real world...

Y'all do yourself a favor and buy $100 worth or more now and learn something. $100 isn't much in the long run, and the bubble is still growing healthy.
If you can't see opportunity knocking down your door, thats your fault. >;/

No, you retard. Where the fuck do you even get $0.70, you stupid shit?
MTG$ == USD, you can even charge people a transaction fee when exchanging MTG$ for USD.
Anonymous M double-posted this 15 years ago, 8 minutes later, 9 hours after the original post[^][v]#99,554
If you faggots just wanna buy BTC with paypal and not have to exchange usd for mtg$ and mtg$ for btc, just use https://www.bitcoinmarket.com/
It's not as active as mtgox, but it works. I just use mtgox for selling.

Erm if one can trade MTG$1 for USD$0.70 like he says you can then 1 MTG$ is the equivalent of $0.70 USD.
And you're still rude.

Well you'd be a giant idiot if you traded 1 MTG$ for $0.70 USD. MTG$ itself is backed by USD.

What makes me laugh is the idea behind bitcoins is that one cannot induce inflation, yet who the hell needs too seeing how high they inflate on their own.
Also an expensive currency a good currency does not make.

Listen Alan, you piece of shit. It's obvious that you don't even understand what inflation is. The very property of increased value means that it's deflationary. Fucking idiot.

people are using bitcoins as a speculative investment and not as an actual currency. that cannot be good.

There's plenty of uses for bitcoins! -> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade
Also, there's nothing wrong with speculation as it adds liquidity to the market.
Personally, I like to use it for sports betting. The degenerates fuck faces here might find it useful for purchasing CP.

bitcions can be divided a lot, so even if they inflate you can trade in precise amounts.
Each Bitcent is worth $0.06 but you can still trade $0.01 if you divide Bitcoins further.

problem is, as soon as the 21 million cap is hit, most generators are more than likely going to liquidate their wallets to a bitcoin trading site like mtgox or btcex.

That cap is a long way off.
But yes, miners will sell their wallets, so what? It's very competitive, and no one person is getting all these coins. A lot of people are, and many are selling now, many will sell before it hits the cap, and many will stop generating before then (because it costs more to generate the coins).
Miners will sell their bitcoins, someone will buy them, and that person will buy Socks, drugs, or perhaps donate it to some organization. They will then either buy another product on the market, or sell it to someone who wants to buy something. The Bitcoins flow.

makes sense. i was just concerned that if most miners sold their BTC to the few sites that will trade it directly for USD as opposed to the vendors that trade for goods and services, it would possibly cause an unequal distribution of wealth. mind you that while BTC has come to prominence as a currency, a lot of people are in it for free money, like earning tickets at an arcade.
not that i won't give it a shot if things turn out properly.

Using dollars to pay for something illegal online? A good way to get arrested, for both the seller and the buyer.

> The currency shouldn't affect whether you are arrested or not.
Yet it does. Bitcoins are anonymous. Regular currency requires you to exchange it in person, or electronically through banks and other financial institutions. Those financial institutions will keep records of who is receiving the money. > I'm also sure they track you based on what mailing address you use, and not what kind of money you use.
LEA focus on sellers, not buyers. If I buy from a reliable seller, I'm fine, they aren't going to hand my address out anyway.
A seller cannot use Paypal or a similar service because it leads back to them. No seller is going to accept regular currency because it means losing their anonymity. All it takes is for a LEA agent to visit the site and contact the broker (Paypal, Visa, etc).
