Based on % of pay or something. Thanks.

3-5% would be a very nice bonus. i know around here bonuses aren't a % of salary but instead a % of profits, so it varies year to year. i'll ask my boss and see how they figure that.

i'm way high. 1-2% of full salary is what they aim for but in previous years they have done flat bonuses not based on a %.

no standard though. just whatever feels right based on yearly profits.

Just release live turkeys into the office and scatter the floor with cranberries and breadcrumbs. Tell people to take home whatever they need.

we just do a christmas bonus. i believe a holiday bonus is part of salary. so you'd hire someone on for 40k + a 5k year end bonus. it's so you pay a lump sum during a holiday season when sales are high or something like that. unless you promised it as part of salary then ignore holiday bonus and give a christmas bonus which could be a basket of fruit and a gift card if you like.

but a weeks pay for a christmas bonus would be generous for an employee on salary.

The last time I was employed we got an annual bonus before Christmas. It was the so called 13th salary of the year.

Everyone got the same, the amount was the average salary across the whole company. So some got less than what they earn (high ranked execs etc.) and some had a really good time (receptionist, janitor...)
