There is way too much analysis shit going on. It's very simple. In the US, ordinary citizens are commonly registered as members of a political party, almost all of those either repbulican or democratic. It was reported that of people who voted, 90% of the voters voted for the party that they are the member of, and roughly half of the voters belong to each party. So comming out on top has more to do with districting with regards to distribution of party members, the marginal effects of those 10%ers, the independents, which party had more of its members bother to show up to vote, and ability and convenience of voting in particular places.

I think yes if Bernie was about 10 years younger. I think Elizabeth Warren would have beat Trump as well. They needed an outsider with a credible anti-wall street message.

Not as low-pitched, or as "working class". Though I do think he has a good voice, now that I've heard it.
It would be a really interesting experiment to see if certain facial characteristics affect voice expectations for observers, actually. Or even if different demographics have different expectations about how a person will sound based on appearence. Even there being no strong correlations would be an interesting finding.

tldr: america is fucked because we care more about what happens on television than what happens in our own real lives. I also think the debates would have been way different since there isnt any emails or benghazi or sexual assault or whatever surrounding sanders, whats trump gonna say? "that guy is old"
sanders has a pretty clean record regarding politics, hillary clinton doesn't (whereas even if the email shit didn't happen they still would have clung onto the fact that bill got a bj)

Sanders may not have won against Trump, but he would have a better chance due to having a vocal fanbase and due to not having scandals. Most of the people I know who voted for Clinton voted for her because "She's the least bad of two bad options."
I think while people would primarily continue voting on party lines, undecided voters would lean more towards Sanders due to his experience, and his energy (Sanders gives off a lot of energy during his speeches while Clinton just sort of mumbles."

He ignored them because he thought it was Republican fearmongering trying to cut federal funding but it actually turned out to be true and the head of the VA was forced to resign. His wife Jane bankrupted a local college by taking on massive amounts of debt to expand the school and failing to attract more students, the exact kind of thing he personally railed against. He praised Castro and said bread lines were good for America. He never heard a steady job until he was 40 years old and got elected mayor of Burlington. Before that he basically squatted in a rundown building with no electricity writing freelance for socialist publications. Good luck convincing a 55 year old coal miner from West Virginia that a radical socialist jew is the answer to his problems lol. Im sure there are a shitload more scandals waiting to be unearthed. Clinton was done in by a fucking email server and Trump got a free pass for admitting to sexually abusing women and not paying taxes so who knows what would have stuck or what wouldn't have but to pretend like Sanders is this mythical Messiah figure who had no flaws and would have saved everyone is just untrue.
