Topic: Should I buy a cheap vr set?

Denmark guy !jJEom8Ii3E started this discussion 10 years ago #57,046

In this Danish store where they only sell cheap shit, I saw virtual reality "glasses" that you can put your phone in. Im not sure if i can afford it or if it's acceptable quality. Yet I really want it.

Sounds like a bad idea.

It won't work very well and will be a waste of money.

They are fun for a few hours but you probably won't get much use out of it

Personally, I would wait for better VR equipment to become more affordable. Particular the ones with the controllers.

There's some very cool stuff in VR, but I think that good equipment goes a long way to making the experience more immersive and fun.

I want to try a Google Daydream. It is like Cardboard but is covered in cloth and has controllers.

Don't bother, unless they were cheaper than $20 and you have a pretty modern phone. Even then, expect you will only be able to do non-intensive non-interactive experiences like a few demos and some 3d youtube videos. It's ok, but not close to what actual VR is nowadays (Oculus Rift, Vive, PSVR). And those are way overpriced for what they deliver. Wait a few years before spending big bux
