You may remember in the mid-80s a pioneering and (for its time) daring movie was made about homosexuality in the US armed forces. One of the subtexts of this film was some kind of war between America and another country. Does anyone know which country this was?

It would be really cool if Britain had a special move where the island had giant mechanical legs and it all walked over to fight Argentina.

They're russian-made MIGs, but the film doesn't go into what country owns them.

Since the pilots are white though and considering the political context of the time the movie was made, it's likely to be the USSR.
