Parchment is like ancient paper made from some animal skin. But that fuckin Martha Stewart keeps baking shit with what she calls parchment. That's not fuckin parchment OK. Culinary parchment is not parchment.

Damn after all these many years I now no why an EX-GF had a lot of fake parchment paper rolls in cupboards
Modern parchment paper is made by running sheets of paper pulp through a bath of sulfuric acid (a method similar to how tracing paper is made) or sometimes zinc chloride. This process partially dissolves or gelatinizes the paper. This treatment forms a sulfurized cross-linked material with high density, stability, and heat resistance, and low surface energy—thereby imparting good non-stick or release properties. The treated paper has an appearance similar to that of traditional parchment, and because of its stability is sometimes used for legal purposes where traditional parchment was used.
A while back when cleaning out a cupboard I found a couple of rolls and tossed them cause I had no clue what they were good for

From a purely culinary standpoint parchment is, in fact, a vegetable. Thanks

What? You need to go to school and get your GED. Lets look at define Vegetable
1.
any plant whose fruit, seeds, roots, tubers, bulbs, stems, leaves, or flower parts are used as food, as the tomato, bean, beet, potato, onion, asparagus, spinach, or cauliflower.
2.
the edible part of such a plant, as the tuber of the potato.
Include of course Vegetable
a person who is so severely impaired mentally or physically as to be largely incapable of conscious responses or activity aka Matt
a dull, spiritless, and uninteresting person. aka Matt
Cooking Parchment is made from Wood Pulp which is not for human consumption but yes Insects do consume So unless you chop up lumber and boil it and eat it - or you are a termite
So > From a purely culinary standpoint parchment is, in fact, a vegetable. Thanks

in home baking, people ordinarily do what is called greasing the pan to prevent sticking. not everyone had Martha Stewart as a mother with her fuckin tools from Japan that open sea urchins
