It's making fun of the fact that everyone was obsessing about Pepe being a hate symbol (when Pepe is actually pretty harmless) while ignoring Moon Man (who is actually extremely racist). Moon Man is sad because he's the real hate symbol but gets no attention.

That's my point. I've never heard of moon man until this thread. This guy not only knew that Pepe was being overblown by the media as a "hate symbol", but was aware of an actual racist meme that is being completely missed by the media.

i read an interesting article yesterday casting the alt-right as an american form of the Populist International Party. it's a global movement, but it embraces isolationism and protectionism and xenophobia and seeks to end international cooperation as well as the destruction of institutions within their own countries. it's not small-c conservatism, they don't seek to preserve, they seek to over throw and revert back to systems and institutions of the past. it's an anti-progressive movement, not conservatism.
history is not going to look kindly on this era, i do not think

Conservatism has been an abject failure. You could hardly blame people for abandoning it and trying something else, you know what the definition of insanity is. I think people are starting to realize that conservatism is a dead end which is why you see the Trump/NeverTrump schism in the GOP this year. It makes sense too, because conservatism is a defensive strategy and it's always shitty to be in a defensive position. If you want to get something done you have to go on offense.

I think I've figured it out!
In the future, people will be periodically tested by hooking them up to a lie detector. Then they will be shown Redpanels comics, and asked if they understand what the comic is about. If they do not understand, they pass the test. If they do understand what the comic is about, they're sent to the reeducation camps.
