Like they say you're immortal because every action has a universe for every possible reaction.

So are there universes where leaves rustled in a certain way?

multiverse stuff is just an idea, an unprovable one at the moment really. think of it like a philosophical framework for understanding a few consequences of their current understanding of quantum mechanics. in fact, some big name physicists really don't like the multiverse at all because it isn't elegant. it's a brute force approach to understanding, and it's not very likely that the universe would be so wasteful as to have infinite duplicates of itself. generally speaking the universe is decreasing in energy, and a constantly branching and expanding multiverse grows in energy at an exponential rate. so it's not actually super likely to be happening, and you can't test for it even if it is. more likely we just don't have a good enough grasp on physics to fully explain what's happening in the experiments that lead people to believe in multiverse theory. tbh it's just another interpretation of particle/wave duality and the "collapse" of the wave function and is an effort to explain how a "choice" is made when an observation is performed. multiverse just says there IS no choice because all events happen in a branching universe. so there is no evidence for it or anything like that, there's just a confusing thing that happens in quantum mechanics and multiverse is just one concept for how to make it less confusing. but again, probably we just aren't asking the right questions and are getting the wrong answers.

it's kinda like how ancient astronomers tried to reconcile the orbit of mercury from a heliocentric worldview. they created super complex tables using logarithms and all kinds of fucked up formulas to try and predict the path of mercury with the same precision they could predict other celestial bodies. it was super complex, totally unintuitive, and didn't even fully predict the path, certainly not to the same standards of precision as other bodies. it wasn't until the sun was placed in the center with all bodies orbiting it that the path of mercury was suddenly understandable. orbital mechanics fixes mercury, but you'd never know it without making the logical leap that the earth isn't at the center of it all. i think something similar is going on today in quantum mechanics. it's super complex, totally unintutive and doesn't fully explain everything we can detect, such as singularities inside black holes. in fact it breaks, just like the path of mercury in a heliocentric universe, and it's probably going to take an extraordinary logical leap to get us to a point we can say with any certainty that something like the multiverse isn't required.
