I was praying or rather apologizing for not having stopped drinking and smoking. I however felt that even though I promised to stop both, it was really the drinking that I should apologize most for. The day before I had felt that to be the case, and so I felt a little less guilty over smoking and instead motivated to stop drinking.
So when I was apologizing, I said that maybe it would take longer to stop smoking but I'm done with the booze. Then I went to school and this pack of cigarettes is just chilling on the ground, so I took it.
I am not sure why one would even have to consider the nonecumenical question in such matters. Coincidences are usually written off in two ways by me:
-Conspiracy I.e. human intervention
-Ecumenically I.e. supernatural
If a mixture of such elements are involved this is not necessarily a third alternative explanation but means that both are right and so categorically it just means two truth states rather than an alternate additional proposition.

both can be true i agree but I'm very much concerned with "putting words in God's mouth" so to speak. So I maintain a little skepticism but privately believe.

If you find booze, someone probably pissed in the bottle. So maybe that's Gods work too and you should drink it and smoke less.
