...but sexual reassignment surgery is permitted? If you want to seek counselling to adopt a different sexual orientation or simply suppress unwanted sexual desires, you can't receive therapy in some states. But if you want to surgically mutilate your body to have the appearance of the opposite sex, that is legal.

Explain this to me.

Heterosexuality in the opposite gender is the natural recourse of normalizing aberrosexuality in the current or original gender presentation. That's simply logical from my standpoint.
