Immediately after Hitler was appointed as the Chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933, the Nazis kick-started the systematic destruction of free press, beginning with the expulsion of anyone who did not tout the party-line from journalistic activities.

This was accomplished through a combination of force, political arrests, and exile. For the next few months, several newspapers were either consolidated or shut-down in the name of nationalism. On October 4, 1933, the Reich Press Chief Otto Dietrich helped formulate and pass the Editorial Control Law, which placed all remaining press under government control, and banned any "non-Aryan" undesirable from participating in journalistic activities.

@previous (A)
I can't take you to Theresa May. I'm sorry.

I might be able to get you a meeting with my local MP, though. Would you like to arrange a time?

That might make for a great short story or something... Aliens land and demand of some random person that they take them to their leader. The aliens get caught up in bureaucratic red tape and end up talking to a string of landlords, city councils, mayors, and local MPs before deciding the planet is [worth leaving / worth destroying / worth conquering / worth controlling clandestinely]. No one ends up any the wiser in the end even though clues were set out in front of them at every turn. Could have a comedic / satirical bent. Could be a bit campy. Might work.
