Topic: How does a person get 'raped to death'?

Anonymous A started this discussion 10 years ago #56,428

I'm reading about this Argentinian teenager who died after being raped...

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-37703406

...and although it's horrific and tragic and I hope the guys who did it get torn apart in jail, I still don't understand how this happens. It says that "a foreign object was thrust into her anus causing so much pain she went into cardiac arrest". Firstly, if she's dead then how do they know this (about the extent of the pain) and secondly, since when did pain cause someone to have a heart attack? Especially if she was doped up on coke and weed.

Genuine question, is it possible to be raped to death (without other forms of assault, such as blows to the head or whatever)?

Emotional stress or pain can cause a heart attack. cocaine can cause a heart attack. Weed can cause a heart attack.

Rapists sometimes kill their victims so they won't tell... and they usually get caught anyway. Now they might get death penalty or life instead of maybe 10 years and listed on offenders list.

That's not what happened in the story in the OP though. She was dropped off at the hospital still alive.
