People think facts are facts, what does morality have to do with anything, the earth is round (or was it flat? I forget) and that's a fact regardless of what you believe so the right thing to do is to acknowledge the earth is round even if you might believe differently. The above is true but yet it's "tainted" with morality. Yes the earth is round and that's a fact but is it true we as humans should think so when it comes to earth? With this question we enter into morality. Like in the early days, the answer was no- that's blasphemy and people should not do that. The only way to counter that was with morality, it was with the idea that humans should acknowledge facts regardless of what religion might say about it, they countered it with another argument of how humans should behave, another morality much more friendly to science.
This might seem like a great victory for science but moral beliefs still rule the day. Don't believe me? Look at the presidential debates, it's all about who is more moral or not as they smear each other.
