I take 1 lil tablet every night. I accidentally took two and forgot and then took two more once and I had like a restless body and couldn't sleep but I had like waking dreams until 5 am. it's a terrible idea I hope you didn't take more on purpose
feel like we've gone over this many times on here

Most OTC sleeping pills in the US are just Benadryl (aka Diphenhydramine) which is pretty harmless. Antihistamines normally make you drowsy. They're pretty harmless though. They used to feed different (and higher dose) antihistamines to the kids I watched in group homes to calm them down. (Instead of proper psych meds that they should have been giving the the kids which got me really pissed about that before I left, but that's a different story.)
I took a handful of OTC Benadryl and drank a handle of vodka once because I needed to get to sleep. It wasn't great sleep. It wasn't restful, dreamy sleep. But, holy shit, was it the sleep of the dead. It was what I wanted at that moment - No dreams. No Memory. Just rest. Physical rest. My body didn't want to move and I just wanted to lose consciousness. I had kind of been over-exerting myself, and I just wanted to turn off for a while. I woke up two days later. Fun times. Spoiler alert: I didn't die
Anyway, a bunch of Benadryl probably won't hurt a healthy adult (even with a load of alcohol in their stomach), but it will put you into a nice deep sleep.

i used to take a shitload but i stopped because it gets way too easy to rely on it to sleep cause you get used to sleeping on command
mostly the hallucinations are pretty shitty and dumb, you can get the same hallucinations by staying awake for 3 days, also makes your vision totally fucked and impossible to focus on anything.
all in all if you take them to get high there are way better drugs and when you start tripping you mostly just feel confused and depressed

Yeah, relying on them to get to sleep is silly, and I don't see how they would make you hallucinate unless you count getting drowsy and having hypnagogic hallucinations (which most people do normally before sleep) somehow exciting.

Sleeping pills and energy drinks combos are pretty common. Take a sleeping pill and go to sleep, no problem. Take a sleeping pill and stay awake? Good times...

It's more the kind of delerious hallucinations like shadow people and hearing voices. Take psychedelics for fun hallucinations like the walls breathing or time dilation.
