Shrek Ever After did it correctly with Puss'N'Boots in the alternate reality.

I had a cat once and she liked to eat and was fat all the time. Ironically it never slowed her down. She could run 30MPH, normal for cats, but faster than any person.

I feed spiders feet or other smashy objects.
They don't get very fat but instead very flat.

Princess Annelise is not my pet, but my animal companion. She has a very healthy diet of all natural, fresh home-made food. I would not attempt to stuff her, nor would she partake in such excess.
