I fucking hate that whenever you have a USB slot, say, on top of a desktop computer that if you run a wire there the actual USB stick bends to where it doesn't rest straight.
I have my phone's power adapter behind my bed so I can charge my phone while I sleep and do other things in bed. My fucking cable is so bent that I had to purchase a new one.
Why can't these be more stable?

That doesn't sound too bad. My last laptop had the power button exposed on the edge nearest you, so when I used it in my lap I would often bump the power button and shut it down without warning. Fuck that laptop

@previous (F)You could have opened up the laptop and cut the 2connections to the power button. Extend the wires to the side or back and use a cheapo miniature toggle switch. cover wires with as in photo
I had to do this with one of my desktops which is remote from my office in a closet - Hummmmm I need to put win10 on that thing and end need for power reset

@previous (Metæ)There is a Home Depot 5 mins away from my test bed location. Couple3 weeks ago I ran over and bought a huge bag of them. Also more rolls of masking tape.
Verizon has a hard ass rule that ALL land line based phone companies have. Its illegal to even identify anything with masking tape. Masking tape is FORBIDDEN from all Bell based phone operations. Qualcomm of course has never heard of such a rule.
Bell heritage companies also are hard assed about the dressing of wires and patch cords and anything that visually is not in perfect order. This location is just minutes away from a huge Marine Base - Base even has an Army base inside it. This site has some leased space for USGov equipment so I just hung a sign on my stuff that says property of USGOV - That is pure BS but it keeps the Techs from Verizon TMobile AT&T and Sprint from writing up a report that will get my ass in a sling.
I stopped using clip leads about 60 days ago because huge trucks wood drive by and the vibrations knocked off my clip leads - So now its wires with the plastic covers and masking tape

I have this problem with USB mice. They last about 6 months before they start having stress issues where the wire comes out of the mouse.

Syntax claims to have invented DiscoVision when, on a business trip to Panasonic in Kyoto, he accidentally plugged the video output from a VCR into a record cutting machine, inadvertently cutting a video signal into the grooves. As he moved to disconnect the machine, a prototype laser pointer fell onto the record cutter, reflecting laser light off the grooves which hit a nearby photodiode connected to an oscilloscope.
