Scientists have begun banding owls, releasing them, and catching them again, as is commonly done with owls. However, soon after starting the study, they have captured owls with bands that haven't been attached yet! Meaning, the band is showing up on the owl, but the band is also still in the band container waiting to be attached! Then, they began to find owls with bands that haven't even been manufactured yet! And someone noticed that an owl brought near a hand scanner made the scanner react. Some of these owls contain some kind of electronic tag that no one can figure out the working of!
