Yeah, the board is what made me question about if it were possible to achieve in Roman times.

I looked up how this gimmick was pulled off

All the ‘audiences’ and ‘swimmers’ in the video are actually the actors in the magic that were hired to add realistic and believable feel.

So many years ago when Your parents were not even alive - I was in the audience when a magician asked me and others up on stage. Vegas or Lake Tahoe Hotel-Casino

We were picked because we had a watch on and neckties - Magician of course removed our ties and watches and non of us had a clue

That is what the audience saw - Of course it was all staged
