i discussed this with somebody today and i can't decide if she's like a full on trump nut racist (said something about worrying that a (real nice) filipino dude was going to eat his pet rabbit today. also the big boss is pinay and i hate that shit) homeless hating awful human being or if she's all of those things and is still a 'democrat' bc i know just as many democrats who pull the same bootstraps classist shit and make the same racist jokes so these labels mean like absolutely nothing anymore. there is no point in demonizing republicans or democrats on either side. and the homeless thing isn't at all a partisan issue anymore. living where i live, you've either owned your home for many years, are very rich, or are homeless. the homeless are, across the spectrum, viewed as not people to be helped, but like... things that we need to put out of our site. they are talked about like they are less than human. people are more compassionate when there's a loose mountain lion in a suburb. i'm pretty sure i overheard a (serious? they were.) conversation two dudes were having about... putting homeless people on a barge? literally like... a trash barge but for human beings. it's the general sentiment here and i guess everywhere and it's just so foreign to me. i don't understand people.
