I am disappoint. Not because Macs are superior/inferior, just because you could get so much more for the same money buying a PC, not to mention gaming.

Bootcamp? Also I game on the playstation and xbox, not the PC except sometimes. Most programs I use have a mac equivalent.

I think a MacBook Air would be a nice secondary computer to have.

Yeah I know all the ins and outs of Macs. Seriously, name one solid advantage to paying twice as much for a Mac? I dunno, do what you will, but I'm pretty careful with my money. You'll never see me driving a BMW for the same reasons you won't ever see me buying a Mac, though I admit they are both quite nice.

Also from a financial standpoint there is no justification in the world for buying a Mac. I'm not a Mac hater, but I am very careful with my money and I wince when people are so carefree with theirs.

Not really. Apple doesn't just let you download the OS and install it on anything. You have to pull a few strings to make it install on any desktop and that's why they call it a "hackintosh". Maybe for some people it's so easy it's negligible.
I believe it was sim in another thread who was talking about business level laptops or something like that, that are more rugged and come with much better warranties. If I were gonna by a retail laptop, and didn't care about gaming, I would go with one of those or a mac, but I like building my own desktops. I like being able to control every aspect of it, not have anything locked out of the BIOS, being able to tune/upgrade, etc.

It's not hard or anything, it's about as difficult as jailbreaking.

All I know is that I'm going into a filming course next year and Macs are the industry standard for that. Plus I think they look and sound sexual, which is a 100% bonus.
