http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzxGtFsXaVwI watched this film recently and have been incredibly depressed after seeing it. It's one of those films with an unhappy ending. Nothing is explained. What happens to Mondo after he gets taken away? Does he get adopted, deported, what? You can see this entire film on YouTube, it's not in English but subtitled. Has anyone else seen this? This is driving me insane. Why did he write on that rock the old woman finds? Was he going to write her a letter or something? What happens after he gets captured and escaped, how does he live the rest of his life? Writers shouldn't put movies together which drive people crazy.

I watched it, but haven't posted till now. ;)
First I wish the quality was better, there were many scenes in which the beauty was lost due to quality. Second, what did we miss in part 4? >;/
Basically the film wasn't supposed to be about a homeless boy so much as about a free spirit, and a cold uncaring society. It wasn't supposed to answer questions, but rather invoke them. The old lady offered him comfort and warmth, but also wanted to tie Mondo down -- the last thing he wanted. The scene where it showed Mondo as a dog laying in the parking lot was pretty telling, the scenes where people just walked by not giving a shit, the scenes where the only people that did give a shit were people who wanted something from Mondo. The authorities saw him as a threat for no reason, the people complained about him for doing nothing. A beautiful free spirit in a shitty, cold, and restricted society.
A pretty good film really, I'm glad I watched, but better quality would have gone a long way considering many of the scenes weren't meant to show the beauty of the world in which Mondo existed.
