Topic: If Matt was a new poster he wouldn't be banned
Anonymous A started this discussion 10 years ago#55,063
He's being judged on his past. If he was a new poster he probably wouldn't ever hit the radar of annoying posters.
I say we make a rule where syntax and Matt can not direct posts or reply to each other or face bans then let Matt post. If any user complains just tell them this isn't some college safe space and to grow up.

That is correct. A new poster would 1) be unaware of the forum rules and standards of behavior and thus would be given more leniency and 2) would not have broken those rules dozens, perhaps hundreds of times before.

Why? It's funny when they do this. Jesus Christ it's just an internet message board, do people really get so upset about stuff like this? If they want to be obsessed with each other for years on end, let them. What, are their posts interrupting all the discussion of 17th century French poetry that goes on around here?

Nope, you seem upset buddy. Stop letting Matt and Syntax spoil your day and just learn to take this silly shit easy.

The only person who is truly qualified to talk about 17th century French poetry is, in fact, Matt. If anything he is overqualified and likely outranks you in academiae achievements.

I don't doubt this. Matt has an MA in French, I don't. But that's besides my point, which is, stop being so emotionally involved in who writes what on obscure internet message boards.
