Customers who come in and ask the price of something and want a discount but don't have the spine to actually ask for one.
Instead they will incredulously repeat the price over and over and tell me an example of where it is cheaper in order to try and manipulate me into offering them a discount.
Surprise! I'm not a retard! I know exactly what you're doing and take great pleasure in watching you become very uncomfortable as I merely make full eye contact whilst smiling and nodding as I only say "yes ma'am, that's correct" in response to them repeating the price and "okay" in response to them telling me where they can get them cheaper.
I'm not holding a gun to your head and forcing you to walk through my door and buy my (superior to all competition) products and services. If you want other store prices then by all means fuck off to the other store.

Have you thought about explaining why your goods and services are better and worth more money? You know, like actually selling them?

@OP
You aren't Denmark guy, but your communication and discernment skills could use some work buttercup.

Selling? As a salesman? Why would anyone do that?

That's such a drag, man. You have to like explain features and benefits and overcome objections and shit. It's much more entertaining to stare the customers down.

Maybe if they were wanting something that was actually a reasonable amount of money. This particular person walked in with an attitude and started the spiel for $3.
I had better shit to do than argue for ten minutes over $3. Would have met the other store price if they actually asked for it instead of trying to manipulate me into offering it. Point of principle.

Nope they hinted that they wanted it in a very rude and offensive way, thanks. Don't care if (insert superconglomerate here) can afford to run at a loss. Don't care if you're ignorant of what constitutes fair compensation for the work you're waiting done.
Let me ask you this. Someone walks into your home and joins you for dinner, and during the meal says "My other friend John can make a good lasagne too, it's a lot more flavorsome than this one".
You think you wouldn't take offense? It's not like I'm asking for your firstborn child. I do deals each and every day but I don't like someone coming in and getting shitty with me to try and force me to work at a loss, sue me.

I'm not commanding you to take a loss, I'm just pointing out they're communicating they'd like a price match. You seem really sensitive.

It annoyed me a lot and I'm venting ITT, like I said i have no opposition to lowering my prices even by a ridiculous level but not to a douchebag.

Get real good at what you do and then move on up to selling Used Cars.
Memories of Cal Worthington who back when I was looking to buy my first used car showed me the powers of powerful selling and then feeling a weeee bit guilty said Kid maybe you should look for someone in your hood who is selling for other reason THAN UNLOADING A LEMON - He went on to forum new car n used dealerships nation wide in USA.
I ended up taking his advise and one year after my first used Ford bought a brand new car all on the back of selling yes me selling people on need to get horrid back yard overgrown weeds WHACKED n that was wayyyyy b4 anyone invented a weed whacker - I invented sorta of one using a Pep Boys dirt cheep mower and jacking up the front on rollers to go at weeds at an angle and people paid $50-$100 back in late 50's and there was so much work I bought more mowers and hired friends who cut me in for 50% - Dirty very DIRTY work and stuff dumped in a rented back yard -
Rant over
