You shouldn't do anything, because a woman should have the right to make decisions for herself, whether they end up being good or bad for her. You don't get to pick who she spends her time with. If you're just bitter that it wasn't you, perhaps you were never a very good friend in the first place.

She should be able to make her own decisions. If she makes the wrong one, why does he feel that he gets to punish her? Her choices are her choices, and she can deal with the consequences herself. If she doesn't want him, he should just leave her alone and stop being an obsessive freak.

In the OP's hypothetical, all he outlined was warning a girl about an abusive man. At no point did he suggest infringing on her right to choose. It's not "obsessive" to warn a person about danger, regardless of gender.
You seem to want to read into this as if the hypothetical man who warns her in the OP is an obsessive bitter person. That's simply not the case, and is irrelevant.

Warning her is fine. She can choose to listen to his warning or not. However, implying that he would "post her dox on /b/ to make sure everyone knows" because she didn't heed his warning suggests to me something deeper than just wanting to warn her. Why would he suggest that? He's obviously bitter.
He seems quite obsessive to me.

The choices don't nessasarily reflect the OP's character. We also have "sympathise and help out" in there. Granted most of them are slightly immature, but perhaps he wasn't being totally serious?

My intention, Toto, was to highlight the inherent misogyny underlying this board. Take another look at the poll.
37 percent said they'd call her a cheap whore on /b/. 26 percent said they'd gloat over her injuries. In total, 63 percent gave highly misogynistic replies.
By comparison, only 16 percent said they'd stand by her (and I suspect they were female users).
What does this poll tell you about the people using this board? How do you think they view women in general?
