Frozen food is too general though. I mean that covers everything from ice cream to frozen french fries.
If I say "I'm going to eat a TV dinner tonight" you know exactly what I mean. If I say "I'm going to eat frozen food tonight" it's vague and ambiguous. I guess you could say "frozen dinner" but that sounds too anodyne.

So a little history from someone who was around when TV dinners were invented - My Mother wood never buy any frozen or canned product so even though I was around back at invention point it was a few years b4 I could try one

So my first paid job outside of making a lot of money (story for some other time about how I made a LOT of money but the work was mean as fuck and those I hired to build up the biz were not so much reliable and I got tired of covering for them and needed a good Teen job and the TV shop job turned out to be helping rip off the public and the pay was also not so much unless I ripped off people and pocked the cash which was permitted as long as I shared it with the manager (owner had no clue but he was also a crook)
So I got a job as a BOX BOY in what is now Ralphs Supermarkets - BUT the very first day I show up they say NO NO You cannot be Box Boy cause we send you to school to learn how to operate cash register which was one hell of a Monster - Machine did a lot more than just ring up stuff
So came the day a new market in the Mall opened up and We had a SUPER SALE ALMOST Giving away lots of Product - For my fans which they are NONE will remember me telling the story about Apple Cider gone bad as in Sweet Juice had not been pasteurized and fermented into the real deal and customers later returned all the bad product which managers said toss out and of course NONE was tossed out

So for about 12 hours I stocked Freezer and Rang up customers and looked at those Delish looking photos and I bought a few and took them home super hungry
Innard of Box looked NADA like Photo and I bought several types and they were all Cardboard in texture and color was ugly dull and that was the VERY LAST Time I tried anything called a TV Dinner
