Yes indeed. For instance Qualcomm offers all employees a choice of Apple or PC. One can even have a PC for office use and Apple for on the road if job includes on the road needs.
I grew up on the first Apple but migrated to PC. That was really because when IBM came out with the first PC - Digging in2 guts of IBM allowed connecting and controlling gadgets for work stuff and trying that early on with Apple was NOT so much so good. One could do it with Radio Shack TRS-80 and such competitors stuff but early Apple sure made it difficult. MS-DOS is still in use all around the world for PC to machine interface - I last used such just two years ago and can think of about 90 locations where Millions of bucks of Hardware interface with OLD MS-DOS on a daily basis.

The MS-DOS works and the project is done and working and with no fails of the MS-DOS part of a huge system located around the world there is no need to spend money that DOES NOT Exist - to make any changes
OH and back in 60's I worked on the one system that keeps base commanders from going ape shit and deciding to send the Minuteman H Bombs on base commander whim - It uses a roller drum hard drive as the memory - System detects a base commander cutting the cable from NORAD - Which can happen but it does lock out the system with enough time for a fleet of bombers to bomb the shit out of the Silo doors (well that is what they told me) That was the last military weapon anything I worked on - Really cool technology me and team designed and it sure worked n worked and I no for a fact it along with that huge Floppy disc are still the hardware that makes it all work.
