One hour ago. Lafayette Utilities System Director Terry Huval said LUS water and sewer systems are at the breaking point. Saturday, Huval disputed claims on social media that the city's sewer system is going to fail during the historic flooding that has occurred over the past two days. Lafayette Utilities System Director Terry Huval advised Lafayette residents to fill bathtubs with water so they'll be able to flush toilets because the south side sewer system is going to fail.

Matts dad.
"It's rush hour and the streets are flooded." "We'll never be able to get across town in this traffic."
Matt:
"Trust me, we'll go by sewer, and we can have lunch along the way".
