OP Of the three I tried all failed to provide the Apple/Mac/Win/ experiences I grew up with.
Spend some time reading critiques. Linux is the basis for Android and UNIX is the basis for Mac O/S
Linux and UNIX make up the majority of Server software O/S but Servers are machines not people.
I hate just hate to say this and have places to go to and people to enjoy the day with and yet I find myself for the first time in my life saying Win 10 WORKS. Its free and I agreed to join the Ring and test (part time only) all upcoming versions and frankly with one minor GLITCH Which did cost me 5 fucking hours of my LIFE - That Glitch was also 5% my fault for not rebooting my computer when I saw the odd glitch. No clue if that wood yes wood have cleared the one and only glitch so far with Win10 - Massive files missing -
Good news was Microsoft runs a test on the fly of the O/S in beta test machines and found my glitch and fixed it for me on the fly WHILE I was trying to repair the mess they made.
Message from them was - Let us help you do the repair - They did with a Bot and the fucking thing totally was fixed with an offer of a free upgrade to my MS Word - Did NOT take that fucking Free upgrade because it is only free for one fucking year
How the fuck do they DARE charge by the year from now on for the NEW Word? Fuck that shit
Now off to my Beach to meet some well some very cute dance partners who want to frolic in the Sun
PS I did go in2 IRC Chat and apologize for a tiny small Fib which may have been for real but I had no PROOOF

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux

LibreOffice, Scribus, GIMP, Inkscape, oKular, and Kate I all use regularly for work. Eclipse and apktool for playing around with Android stuff, Firefox, Exaile for podcasts and audiobooks. Even core stuff like grep and wget get regular use.
