The purpose of the Second Amendment is so civilians can defend themselves against a tyranical government and so citizens can defend their neighborhoods themselves instead of having the police do it. Chicago for instance has the strongest gun control and the highest murders.

Actually it was created after a failed revolution which was barely defeated because of the difficulty they found in making up a militia.
The idea was that if everyone was able to carry firearms there would be more of a choice available when combating military threats via militia in the future.
So actually the purpose is the opposite of what you say it is because it was created to defend the government
