"I gave this four stars only because I reserve 5 stars for wines like Chateau Latour classic vintages. This is a truly excellent red Zinfandel. Obviously, it needs more age to it. I suggest not opening your bottle until at least 2019 or 2020. But even this young, the nose opens with powerful notes of blueberries and other dark red and blue and purple fruits, vanilla, black pepper, and even a slight touch of earth. In the mouth, the fruits persist. The acidity is high, and the tannins are powerful. Mouthfeel is smooth and coating, as is to be expected with the grape. After swallowing, hints of oak and spice are left in the mouth. Truly an enjoyable wine."
