Topic: Kook, have you ever heard of Mckamey Manor?

It's apparently a haunted house in San Diego, California that is known to take things to a much higher level. They require participants to sign a 10 page waiver and have a health check prior to entering. The experience can last a total of 4 to 8 plus hours. I heard about this from a WatchMojo video of 10 adult only "theme parks".

I gave. Would you ever visit it? I don't think that I would.

I guess it was pretty intense, but honestly, not as bad as you might imagine. I read lots of articles beforehand, and watched some videos. If you just remember that these are all people pretending, and that you cannot actually die or get injured, it's pretty fun. But I did not make it to the "last scene" because I got dehydrated and almost fainted, so they ended it. But yeah, pretty intense. Got bloodied up a little, had to eat baby chicken, puked, locked in coffin with corpse, etc.

Also, gore really does not scare me, and I am willing to eat almost anything. The only thing I hated was being bound up and having cockroaches poured onto my face. That sucked. I am more scared by paranormal, and atmosphere. I found that the actors talked too much. They sounded like normal dudes from the Midwest, so that part was not really scary. And they say there is no safe word, but if you curse, they end it (the owner is some sort of moral or religious guy!). So technically, if you want it to stop, just yell, "FUCK!"

I lol'd
Pouring cockroaches on people's faces, even if they're saying they want out? Fine. They yell "fuck"? Over the line! End the show!

I know lol. And it's a built-in way to make it stop if you wimp out. The "tour" actually does have a scary story about an asylum behind it, but the creepy supernatural motif is lost in the stupidity of the physical "gags". Ghosts and zombies actually scare me. Fat dudes who sound like Walter cutting my hair off, does not.

Come to think of it, the guy being religious made me think of those Christian scare houses. The ones where they simulate their idea of hell to scare kids into behaving.
Though, obviously, this is a secular version without an evangelical message.

Yes, the time length is the really difficult thing about it. That is what really starts to break you down psychologically and physically. The whole thing lasts 8 hours, but no one has made it all the way yet.

It's really not that scary. It is physically demanding, and I guess spending several hours being lightly tortured is psychologically demanding, but I wanted a true "haunted house", and I got, "a crowd of fat dudes from the Midwest slapping me around".

I guess it is sort of unsafe. It blurs the line between fantasy and reality, which is what it claims to do to be fair. But it is not deadly. Maybe a little unsafe, but no serious injury or death.

We have something similar but way more light hearted. It's a maze cut in a corn field that you go to at night, byo flashlight. There's people dressed up as zombies and shit that jump out at you and chase you around.
Even as you get out of your car in the carpark before you go in, leatherface revving a chainsaw out of fucking nowhere! Good times

It's sort of too dark to tell they are zombies anyway. They just hide and grab you as you go past in the dark. They trip you up and others jump out at you etc, they try to split up your group and sperate people.
It's fun, not kidnapped by rednecks "scare me bondage" just cheap thrills and frights

I would love to tackle this with a team, especially if this team consists of... myself, Kook, squeegee, Killer Keemstar (youtube), Matt Miller, and Kimmo Alm.
