Nah, if it was a third world shithole they would've let that guy bring his goat into the stadium and avoided the 100+ year drought. Chicago is a first world shithole.

San Francisco is because the wealthy can afford all the real houses and the ordinary people that used to live there have to live under bridges or leave. Just like in South America

Yea and like its so very very rare I wood deal with anything like that. The best thing about LA Freeways is that so many alternative ways to get from point A to B. But one does not dare listen to anything other than the AM stations that give traffic reports and have own Helicopters. There are also terrific toll roads to by pass much.
Here in San Diego area there are VERY FEW Alternate routes so for instance IF I want to go to downtown SD its like 15 minutes UNLESS the race track or county fair is open and then it can take one hour. There are a couple of ways around this but its a country road going the wrong way and if a rock falls down or a simple accident and its a mountain road I end up fucked.
Back when I worked for Howard Hughes (not that I ever met him) he forecast freeway traffic of the future and his solution was a dirt cheep mass produced Helicopter. Hughes 200

Yep we in California do talk about time rather then miles. So its about 15 miles to downtown and it normally takes 15 minutes and border is 37 miles and takes 37 minutes HOWEVER Getting back is is is
Last 3 miles usually takes a full 3+ hours to just cross over to the US
