That's exactly what it does, it allows minority votes to be redistributed according to their second choices. MPs need to work less hard than they would under first-past-the-post, as they only get votes from actual supporters that they've won over. With AV they just have to be second best for enough people.

Watched the first one. They made some good points, but I stil prefer the current one. Sure it might not be the majority of the population that supports a party, but that party is still the most popular.
