The only real way to smuggle guns into America is through Mexico which is guarded quite well, but for Germany you don't have to actually meet their checks because you can sneak it through Greece which is very chaotic atm and then you're in Schengen so you can just drive it there

It's quite possible he went by his middle name David instead of "Ali" (I probably would, I were named Ali David). Lots of people go by their middle name instead of their first name for all sorts of reasons.

Well putting myself in the position of an 18 year old German of Iranian ancestry (born and raised in Germany), I would not want an obviously Muslim name especially with recent events. David is very non-Muslim sounding.
