It's all so terribly boring. Why is it all so boring? There were times when it wasn't but now it suddenly is. I don't know why I find myself so bored that I make this thread since all but few quiet people have left yet here i am writing something nobody will read, yet why not make something just to make it, since I'm so bored.
Back to basics, why is it all so boring? I believe that boredom is when you try to have fun but you can't, so why can't I have fun? The answer, of course, is that life isn't there only to have fun, despite advertisement constantly telling us to have fun and a whole ideology centered on fun, life is not a product which you enjoy.
Life is life and part of life are lies about life, one such lie, or abomination, is the demand to enjoy. Zizek talks a lot about this. For example he argues that the reason some people are really sensitive about smoking, is because the smoker is horrifying to them. It's not the smell or health risks that makes those people shrug in disgust at the sight of a smoker, it's this unknown identification with the duty to enjoy, the smoker represents this going wrong. A smoker is someone who will enjoy to the very end.
