Sad to say and it is sad. I have followed AMD since its birth but only for small moments in time have invested money in them. Its like I kept wishing they Could With a former office mate from Hughes Malibu Research labs ending up in a key position at Intel - He left and ended up putting Apple in2 Biz. Me totally uninterested in such product. During that time others from where Mike ended up after Hughes (Fairchild) people from there ended up just about anywhere other smart people followed.
So the deal is: AMD at the get go started out with a great idea of going to "RISC" architecture instead of X86 Microshit/Intel/ and hit hard times and ended up going with X86 to stay in marketplace. Some of my early Sun Work Stations did end up with AMD RISC CPU's
Now MOVE DECADES 4Wards. I will not cannot fathom investing in AMD because they back in 2012 decided to again move 2 RISC CPU's. Nor can anyone tell me where that project is at.
Why is this important to me? For one I invested in a competitor of AMD - NVIDIA. I went in at around $15 and its about 4X that today. Its been a nice steady rise with NVIDIA actually putting out RISC Product on the market.
So Y is this important the RISC instead of X86?
Qualcomm is the reason. Virtually all as in 95% of all mobile products need to run on batteries - Mobile phones - Laptops and you name the hand held gizmo and it runs on batteries and needs a super efficient CPU and other resources that need to compute with Minimum Instructions as in Reduced Instructions aka RISC.
Given the market place is going in just one direction AMD needed to go back to the starting place - In the meantime Intel with X86 has continued to make the CPU smaller and more efficient while watching how THEY have lost 100's of Billions of $$$$$ because they refused to start a RISC product line - Its even possible this time they will get some market share. (Re a personal SEC limitation keeps me from saying anymore about Intel and a new product for Cell phones to compete with well with Qualcomm of course.
So Yes its cool you made some money with AMD. Wood I hold on2? Hell NO NO NO
Of course there is a reason AMD may have decided to hold back on a new RISC product. One does have to go with the most efficient core software which is ARM and that is a costly license from UK - Odd how Qualcomm paid for the License and made a fortune and Intel said Fuck no to that - So for Decades Qualcomm has now become a pointed out predator in the Cell market place and everyone else is trying to find a way in. Microshit is still trying to find a way in with Nokia/Intel n good luck to such

Yea no question KGB wood be there. Albeit Qualcomm paid for the naming rights to that stadium they really have no part in the rest of it other than of course lots of tickets to give away and some prime seats.
Me? So many offers yet not one time have I been to that stadium. Had plans to do several events and even was just blocks away at Gaslamp but then the food came and drinks came and girls all wanted to go to the local blues clubs in Gaslamp and dance. So it ended up a Particks pub evening where the Blues always moves ya
Now I have to suck up my gut and craw inside a Cell base station bunker where the equipment is now beyond what the fire marshal will allow Legally and I have to find connections pulled out of connectors as a crew from AT&T have fucked up my Verizon test bed beta stuff - Soldering iron in hand and its been years since I needed such. Do I use the old rosin core or?

We can place a personal bet to make it more interesting. :)
I predict it'll be back up to $20 within the next year (so let's say after 2017Q2 earnings call it'll be $20).
AMD made a huge step forward in the GPU department, and if rumors about Navi are true (no more big chips, but a scalable architecture where you just glue cores on the same interposer and get "big chips" that way) AMD is in for a bright future.
When it comes to the CPU industry, it sure is stagnant as fuck, and the improvements are tiny with every new generation. But there's also a server market, and with cheap enough 32C/64T Opterons, AMD will be flooding the server market.
Why I'm this optimistic for the CPU division? One name, Jim "certified shitwrecker" Keller. The guy always delivers. So you bet your ass the Zen architecture will deliver.
All in all, I wouldn't be so negative about AMD, it's GPU division, and specially not about x86. No matter how much consumers want it, x86 is here to stay, for a loooong loooong time.

Bumped up again 10% after some ZEN leaks, sitting now at $8.5 (I bought some stock at $2.20, and added more at $4.12ish). Some of the leaks are bogus and it could backfire in the long run (overhyping, then not delivering the hype on release). But in General, it's at a 5 year max. and it'll still only go up in the long run.

Poland, specially Poznan, is going huuuuge when it comes to startups. There's so much money here, I would have never expected. But the investors are cancer, they will give companies way lover evaluation than anyone else (for example, German investors gave one of my companies a 5M evaluation while at the same time no Polish VC wanted to evaluate it over 2M).
If you wanna toss money into Europe, my advice would be Sweden, Stockholm. The scene there is crazy, and it seems that nothing that starts there can fail.

Consider GPU for instance.
But I have good reasons to hold firm because while you put in money that from your screen cap nets $4 n some change I went hard on something in the Netherlands and dared not share because it was one of those in my Opinion things re who should buy what with so many saying I and so many others were crazy to think a local company here in SD wood lay out massive billions to buy a Netherlands company.
I feared SEC on my ass from the get-go on this- Now I find out its not SEC beeswax if the majority of execs said that massive billions to buy makes no sense. I with friends said it makes lots of cents n bought borrowed bought borrowed n bought
You will figure out what I bought cause its MASSIVE BILLIONS TO BUY - RECORD SETTING BILLIONS - so in round numbers while you were making overall $4 or so a share MORE - My buy in waz at very low $80's n in just weeks its at hairs breath from $100/share

But I think I'll cash out after the announcement on the 13th now. On the 15th I'm going either to Germany to open a company, or I'll open it in Estonia as an eEstonian and just go to Slovenia and Croatia for vacation.
