Gawker outed a tech executive several years ago and claimed it was news reporting.

Gawker more recently published a sex tape featuring a bleached blonde ftm body builder and ex wrestler from Florida sleeping with the wife of a local AM talk radio station disc jockey, again claiming it was reporting the news.

The tech executive financed legal action by the DIY ftm tranny against gawker that resulted in a judgment large enough for the owner of the publication to be forced into a sale.

It's likely gawker will no longer get to out fags or publish sex tapes as part of its new business model.

Secondarily, blogs associated with gawker (like kotaku, known for KL's impassioned defense of its eigth rate journalism and sjw click bait) may have to trim a few staffers or hold fewer production meetings at chorizo bars in Brooklyn.
