I only saw like one or two episodes and one of them felt too much like the original. I heard this series is way different from the original so an episode that happens to be like the original isn't really that much to judge the series on.
The other episode I saw was the "subtle transgender sjw" episode featuring a horse who identifies as a unicorn.
Other than that I haven't watched the new series at all.

I want to like it. I want to not be the nostalgia glasses jerk who can't enjoy something new because it's different from the original.
But so far, I'm struggling with it. I like that the returning characters use the same templates from the original. The problem is, this clashes with the more modern style templates of the new characters, much the same way characters in The Simpsons look out of place next to every celebrity that does a character cameo.
Additionally, the voice actors are all new. Which wouldn't be an issue if I was watching the shows 10 years apart. But I'm not. I only saw a handful of episodes of the original when it did a short stint on the WB. So when I saw the first episode of the new series I thought I'd give it a shot, but I'd need to watch the original series in its entirety first. As I was doing that, I saw comments from people complaining about voice actors in the new series, and so I decided I probably shouldn't watch them back to back. So I just finished Regular Show and saw a few episodes of PPG on tv but I'm still having some trouble with the voices and design clashing. I will watch it, eventually, but I think I still need more time to let the original fade.
