Last night I was told that tequila is a stimulant, unlike every other alcohol that is a depressant. I found this to be quite odd, so naturally I'd have to do my own investigating. This isn't something new to me, as I've heard it before in the past from others as well, but the truth was still to be determined. According to my personal research, tequila is, in fact, not a stimulant. Some believe that the stimulant effects may be a result of the sugar from the agave plants that are used to create tequila. Please note that mezcal can't be called tequila unless distilled in Mexico. Also, mezcal can be made from 8 differnent varieties of the agave plant, unlike tequila which is limited to one specific type.

Voted for that because all Alcohols for consumption are a depressant.
By observation there is something unique about Tequila. To busy with work to research and I just used up my play time research to look at something for a Canuck poster on MC

It can be a stimulant if you believe enough that it is. Called placebo.

All ethyl alcohol is a depressant. Other ingredients in the particular type of drink might be stimulants, but the alcohol itself is a depressant.
