Hi kook. I'm an atheist yeah. My mom is too. I think my sister is and I don't think my dad is. It's very common among jews nowadays. Most of them are "secular" (i.e. non-religious) Jews. The term is becoming increasingly less of a religious designation and more of a community identity thing.

So in other words dem Jews are just like dem Christians. The basic difference is that Christians are in2 prayer to a Ghost n if Catholic they also include prayer to a second Ghost aka the Mother of Jesus the Jew.
And kook you gota look up the rules of drinking many many glasses of wine on empty stomach as Jews do to celebrate many of the holidays. Also Jewish Christmas sucks compared to Christians Christmas

The major ones like hannukah, passover, rosh hashanah etc I do celebrate. I don't like...observe them really. I eat apples and challah on rosh hashanah and I try to visit my parents for one night during hannukah to light the menorah but I don't do passover seders or eat only unleavened bread or anything like that. It's basically picking and choosing the parts I like and remember.

Yeah my mom always tells me that I need to marry a jew. My dad doesn't care as much. I'm going to marry whoever makes me happy, but there is a lot of pressure for jewish men to marry within the faith because it's passed down matrilineally. Shiksas are worse than shegetzes.

It's strange to me how that mixes with the atheism. Like in my family, no one ever lectures their kids about marrying white. And in the Filipino part of my family, no is ever lectured about marrying Asian.

Yeah but Jews are really trying to not die out. The rate of birth among Jews is really low outside the super Orthodox Jews and there are fewer Jews on the planet today than there were in 1929. There isn't really that concern among white people or Filipinos or whatever.

As a Filipino, with my family each marrying a different ethnicity, I can say no fucks were given. When I was younger I always wanted to keep it in the race, but I'm mixed myself. Back when my parents got married there were many laughing at then during their wedding.
