Have you tried placing a boot on your laptop or kicking your laptop with a boot?

What kind of laptop? What kind of BIOS? what kind of bootable media? What are you trying to boot?

I think I had this with a netbook I had a few years ago. I did end up getting Ubuntu on it though. There must be some setting somewhere
