It is. It is due to the liberation of women that lgbt culture was accepted by society. You have to remember the liberation of women had it's roots in the 40's during WWII with women taking the jobs that men traditionally had. All these disenfranchised people wanted the same rights they were seeing others having. Womens liberation really moved forward in the 50's on through 60's, the civil rights movement started in in the 60's through the 70's, the lgbt movement moved forward from the early 70's on through the mid 80's. I personally think feminism is to thank for all of that, because it was truly the beginning. Because of this those who would have been disenfranchised around WWII today have the same rights guaranteed to them that straight white males had then. Although there is still more work to be done the gap is starting to close. People like me and others in the LGBT movement would have been terrified to to exist openly in the century past and I think they did an incredibly brave thing being who they were, not letting a bigoted, misogynistic society dictate the terms of how they lived life in order to be happy.

In a way sure, if that is how you want to see it. I think somebody thinking it is "hilarious" to watch someone else suffering, regardless of whether it is fiction or not is creepy as fuck. You are into the macabre so you don't see the post in the same light as I do, but it was honestly creepy as fuck, even for bert. I didn't want the topic to suddenly become about me because every single fucking thread I post in eventually does so, full of insults regarding my gender and someone making some juxtaposition or analogy that has no bearing on what I am actually doing.
