I'm glad it's back! I remember getting up in the morning and excitedly checking to see if there were any new rage bulletins over a cup of coffee. Some days I chuckle for hours after at the replies on IWAB.

I would be interested in knowing what was going on with that name. That bulletin came at a time when there were hundreds of bots coming in at all hours from IPs that could often be traced back an ISP that went by the name "Roadrunner". I assumed he was referring to that, but I don't know if there was something else going on at the board. I'd love to know what he ultimately meant that.

An anon here claimed credit for it. Yeah, it was lots of bots coming from the Roadrunner ISP.
At the time, I thought he meant somebody was posting "meep meep" a lot, or something.

Kimmo complained in several different posts about it listing IPs he had identified that were (at the time) all associated with Time-Warner Cable's RoadRunner Internet and asking his users to do something about it.
The bots would come in and browse a thread for some random amount of time, and then they would move to another thread to do the same thing until it was kicked or a randomly generated amount of time had elapsed. Some bots would post ambiguous replies for the mods to review when Kimmo implemented the post queuing system, and some raped his /spreadtheword project pretty badly by flooding it with fake referrals. Each bot would spawn another bot maybe 30-ish seconds after it had spawned. (with 500-1000 bots all running at once pretty much all day)
It clogged up the board enough to slow it down, screw up user statistics, artificially inflate view counts, and generally make Kimmo paranoid that everyone with a new UID was likely a bot - helping him ban most the newbies and the occasional regular user that just didn't want to keep a UID across multiple posts.
