i heard about that. how people react in a panic can seem crazy, the guy was scared for his life and made a stupid, stupid decision and i think he recognizes that and said what he said as an admission that he made a mistake. i wouldn't condemn the guy as anything but an idiot, but some people may see it as criminal. but, in trying to save himself he condemned others to die by the shooter. kinda like breaking someone's leg when you're being chased by a bear so you only have to outrun the wounded man and not the bear. fucking moron, open that door and fucking run like forest gump.
edit: maybe the alley didn't have an exit though, or he was locked in. some night clubs have smoking areas that are kinda caged in.

I think I read somewhere that he was in an alleyway packed with people who could only exit one at a time by slowly climbing over a fence. He blocked the door to save the lives of everyone in the alleyway at the cost of the lives of everyone inside. Was that right? I don't know. It's a horrible situation.

That might help explain why the death toll was so high. Others suggested there were multiple shooters, but assuming it only had two exits, and one was blocked, that'd potentially turn a tiny bar into a shooting gallery for the shooter.
